Fred Chandler and Jo Beth Majure
June 8, 1950

Fred Chandler and Jo Beth Majure were joined in holy matrimony in a ceremony conducted in the Philadelphia, Mississippi, home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Majure, by the Reverend Dr. R.A. Eddleman, who had been Jo Beth's landlord during her brief teaching tenure in Clinton, Mississippi.

The wedding cake photo was obviously staged, because nobody is wearing any frosting.

The wedding party, at least in this photograph, consisted of (from left) "Nig" McCauley, Dr. R.A. Eddleman (officiant), Jo Beth Chandler, Fred Chandler, and Frances Harrison.

Following the ceremony, ready for travel.  Note the tinkertoy at lower right, evidence of one John Christopher Elston (aka John C. Smellyfeller), who is absent from the photographic record.

These photographs reflect a simpler, happier time, and we have shed many tears over the passing of these two dear souls.
